Connecting With The Dredging Industry In Montréal
VMI Dredges attended the 2026 WEDA Dredging Summit & Expo to connect directly with dredging professionals, engineers, contractors, government representatives and industry partners from across North America and beyond.

VMI Dredges attended the 2026 Western Dredging Association Dredging Summit & Expo, held July 20–23 at the Hotel Bonaventure Montréal in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
Representing VMI Dredges were President Cash Maitlen and Sales Manager Wesley Hamm. From Booth 211, the VMI team met with dredging professionals, engineers, contractors, government representatives and industry partners to discuss current projects, equipment needs and the challenges facing today’s dredging industry.
This year’s conference theme, “Dredging Readiness: Navigating Shared Needs,” emphasized the importance of collaboration, preparation and practical solutions throughout the dredging community. Technical sessions, panel discussions and exhibits addressed topics involving dredging operations, sediment management, marine construction, environmental restoration and resilient water infrastructure.
For VMI Dredges, the summit provided an important opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, establish new connections and learn more about the evolving needs of dredging operations across North America and beyond.
“Events like the WEDA Dredging Summit allow us to have meaningful, face-to-face conversations with the people doing the work,” Maitlen said. “We listen to the challenges they are facing, share what we have learned through more than five decades of building dredging equipment and look for practical ways to help them succeed.”
Since 1972, VMI Dredges has designed and manufactured dredging equipment for customers throughout the United States and around the world. Its equipment lineup includes horizontal auger dredges, cutter suction dredges, self-propelled dredges, remote-controlled dredges, booster pumps and Swamp Hoe amphibious excavators.
