The VMI Dredges Annual Company Party brought employees, families, and leadership together for an evening focused on appreciation, craftsmanship, teamwork, and the people who help keep VMI moving forward every day.

From BBQ and family activities to milestone highlights and employee recognition, the event reflected the culture, pride, and dedication behind the equipment and projects built throughout the year.

VMI Dredges 4th Annual Company Party - A Night to Remember

On Friday, October 3rd, VMI Dredges hosted our annual Company Party, a celebration packed with food, fun, and plenty of reasons to cheer.

The evening kicked off in the yard with BBQ from the 5 Star BBQ food truck, filling the air with the smell of smoked meats and fresh sides. Children ran and played games designed just for them, while the rest of us enjoyed catching up outside of the workday hustle.

Adding to the night’s nostalgia, one of our employees brought out a fully restored steam engine, firing it up to steam corn on the cob for everyone. The sound of the whistle and the rolling steam were a perfect nod to the mechanical ingenuity that runs through VMI’s DNA, craftsmanship in motion, quite literally.

A special moment of the evening came when an employee presented Cash with a beautifully embroidered VMI Dredges logo, handmade by his wife. The detailed piece will travel with us to trade shows or find a place of honor in our front office, a heartfelt reminder that pride in VMI Dredges extends beyond the shop floor and into the homes of our team.

As the night went on, laughter rolled through the crowd during prize giveaways, and everyone paused to watch the highlight video of the year, a look back at the projects, achievements, and milestones that made 2025 one to remember.

When the sun dipped down, we ended the night with an outdoor movie: How to Train Your Dragon. Blankets, lawn chairs, and popcorn turned the yard into a small open-air theater, the perfect finale to a day of celebration.

The Company Party wasn’t just about BBQ and entertainment. It was about recognizing the people whose hard work, skill, and commitment keep VMI Dredges moving forward. Every weld, every design, every project this year added up to something worth celebrating, and Friday night was proof of just that.
