VMI BUILDS DREDGES IN A VARIETY OF SIZES AND CONFIGURATIONS. BELOW ARE SOME OF THE COMMON MODELS AND OPTIONS, HOWEVER, WE CAN CUSTOM BUILD A MACHINE TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.
This dredge comes equipped with an 8 inch (200mm) discharge pump and maximum dredging depth up to 20 feet (6m). Optional cutter heads and cutting edges are available.
Equipped with a 10 inch (250mm) discharge pump and maximum dredging depth of 27 feet (8.2m). The MDX line provides a high level of performance in a more compact, lower cost machine.
MD-1230CS dredge is equipped with a 12 inch (300mm) discharge pump and maximum dredging depth of 30 feet (9.1m).
We can build the right machine to fit your dredging application. Offering pump sizes from 8 - 14 inch (200-350mm) with digging depths up to 50 feet (15.2m). You have a choice of diesel engines as well as electric power if needed. Contact VMI about your specific needs. We are here to help.

CLOSED VANE IMPELLER PUMPS
VMI can provide a variety of pump choices to meet your needs depending on your application and dredging requirements. VMI recommends hi-chrome cast iron to maximize the life of the pump when dredging abrasive materials.
SPUDS & TAIL WINCH
A rack and pinion spud drive eliminates the use of cable to lift and lower the spuds. The rack and pinion provides positive force in both upward and downward directions. An optional tail winch can be provided to pivot and anchor the rear of the dredge.
ENGINES & POWER TRANSMISSION
US Tier 3 industrial and marine along with US Tier 4 Final / EU Stage V diesel engines are available to meet different global emissions certifications around the world. Heavy-duty marine transmissions and power take offs are utilized to transmit power between the engine and dredge pump.
VMI dredges are equipped with hydraulic piston pumps to provide ample flow to all hydraulic components without starvation. Load sense and pressure compensation technology are utilized to optimize efficiency and reduce power draw. All continuously operated hydraulic functions are equipped with variable speed so that you can optimize operating speeds. Enhanced filtration is used to extend the life of all hydraulic components.
Heavy-duty swing winches are standard to provide plenty of pulling power while dredging in tough conditions. The swing winches are mounted directly to the ladder to confine the pulling force along the ladder itself reducing stress against the ladder pivot pins.
CUTTER HEAD DRIVE
VMI cutter head drives are available in different sizes to match the torque requirements needed for your dredging operation. High pressure hydraulic piston motors offer high-torque capability and high efficiency to reduce power loss. Interchangeable components allow the ability to switch between cutter drives and cutter head sizes to suit your needs.
